ALTAR
Once upon a time,
she dreamed of becoming a mother.
She imagined a little hand holding hers,
a home filled with love,
and a tiny life she could protect from everything cruel.
But as she grew older,
she began to see the world outside the fairy tale.
A world full of war.
A world that hurts women.
A world that destroys the earth
and asks its children to inherit the ruins.
She still had all that love to give.
She just stopped believing
that love alone could protect a child from this world.
So she walked to the altar in white,
carrying the future she once dreamed of.
She placed it among the dead flowers
and said goodbye.
Not because she never wanted it.
Because once upon a time,
she wanted it very much.
